Terms of Service
The deal between you and Leashdesk, written to be read. Using Leashdesk means you agree to these terms.
- Leashdesk is your software, not your employer or agent. Bookings, payments, and pet care happen between you and your clients.
- Pay monthly, cancel anytime. The trial is free with no card; paid plans stop at the end of the billing period you cancel in.
- Your content stays yours. We only get the permission needed to run the service for you.
- Don't abuse it. No spam, no illegal use, no breaking into other people's data.
- We do our best, promised as-is. We work hard to keep Leashdesk fast and reliable, but like all software, it's provided without guarantees.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms are an agreement between Leashdesk (“we”, “us”) and the business that opens an account — the pet sitter, dog walker, or trainer (“you”). If your clients use your booking page or client portal, they interact with your business; sections 4 and 5 explain how that works.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 18, provide accurate information, and keep your login credentials to yourself. You're responsible for activity under your account. If you add team members (on plans that support it), you're responsible for their use too.
3. Plans, trials & billing
- Free trial. New accounts get a free trial of Pro features with no card required. When it ends, you can pick a paid plan or continue on whatever free functionality is available — we don't charge you automatically.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Billing; you keep access through the end of the period you've paid for.
- Price changes. If we change a price, we'll give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email before it affects them.
- Refunds. Monthly fees aren't refunded pro-rata, but if something has genuinely gone wrong, email us — we'd rather be fair than technical.
4. Client payments & Stripe
To collect payments from your clients through Leashdesk, you connect a Stripe account. Those payments are between you and your client, processed under Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. You're responsible for what you sell — your pricing, your cancellation and refund policy toward your clients, and any taxes on your income. Leashdesk shows payment status and, on some plans, adds a small platform fee that is disclosed on your plan's pricing.
5. We're the software, not the service
Leashdesk is a tool your business runs on. We are not a party to the arrangements between you and your clients, we don't supervise or guarantee pet-care services, and we're not a marketplace that matches you with customers. Anything that happens during a walk, visit, or training session — including injuries, property access, or disputes — is between you, your client, and your insurance.
6. Your content & data
Everything you and your clients put into Leashdesk — client records, pet profiles, notes, reports, forms — remains yours. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process, and display it in order to run the service. How we handle personal data is covered by our Privacy & cookies policy. You're responsible for having the right to store the information you keep about your clients.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Leashdesk to:
- break the law, or send spam or unsolicited marketing through our email and reminder systems;
- access, probe, or disrupt other users' data or our infrastructure;
- resell, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service;
- upload malicious code or content you don't have rights to.
We can suspend or close accounts that do — with notice where reasonable, immediately where necessary to protect the service or other users.
8. Availability & changes to the service
We aim for Leashdesk to be fast and available all the time, but we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We're a young product improving quickly: features will be added and occasionally changed or retired. If we ever discontinue the service entirely, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and time to export your data.
9. Disclaimers & limits on liability
Leashdesk is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data; and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Ending things
You can stop anytime: export your data and delete your account from Settings, which permanently erases it. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (your ownership of your content, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
11. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Leashdesk is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@leashdesk.com and give us 30 days to work it out — most things are a misunderstanding or a bug we'll gladly fix.
12. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we'll update this page, bump the date at the top, and email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Leashdesk after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can cancel and export your data.
