Privacy & cookies

You trust Leashdesk with your business — and your clients trust you with their homes, door codes, and pets. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we'll never do with it. Plain English, no legal maze.

The short version
  • Your data is yours. We never sell it, rent it, or use your client list for advertising. Ever.
  • Your clients' data belongs to them and you. Addresses, door codes, and care notes exist only to run your business — we don't touch them for anything else.
  • We never see card numbers. All payments go directly to Stripe.
  • You can leave anytime, with everything. Export all your data as a file, or delete your account and we erase it.
  • We collect the minimum and work with a short list of vetted providers to run the service.

Who we are

Leashdesk (“we”, “us”) provides booking and client management software for pet sitters, dog walkers, and dog trainers at leashdesk.com. For anything privacy-related, email support@leashdesk.com — a human reads it.

What we collect

Your account & business data. Your name, email, business name, timezone, services, prices, working hours, and settings — what's needed to run your Leashdesk account.

Data you store about your clients. Client names and contact details, pet profiles, addresses, entry instructions and door codes, care routines, session notes, and progress reports. You control this data; we store and process it solely so the product works for you. We treat entry instructions and door codes as sensitive: they are used only to display back to you and are never shared with third parties or used in analytics.

Bookings & payments. Appointment details, package balances, and payment records. Card details are entered on Stripe's systems, not ours — we store only what's needed to show payment status (e.g. amount, paid/unpaid).

Messages you send us. If you contact support, we keep the message so we can help and follow up.

Usage data. Basic analytics about how the product is used (pages visited, features clicked, browser type) so we can find what's confusing and fix it.

How we use it

  • To provide the service: bookings, reminders, payments, client portals, calendars.
  • To send transactional email — booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, account notices.
  • To improve the product, using aggregated usage analytics.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To respond when you contact us.

What we don't do: sell or rent personal data, use your client list for marketing, show ads, or train AI models on your data.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that make Leashdesk run, only for the purposes below, under contracts that restrict what they can do with it:

SupabaseDatabase, authentication & file storage
Stores your account and business data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
VercelApplication hosting
Runs the Leashdesk website and app. Sees standard request data (IP address, browser info) to serve pages.
StripePayments & subscriptions
Processes card payments and payouts. Card numbers go directly to Stripe — Leashdesk never sees or stores them.
ResendTransactional email
Sends booking confirmations, reminders, and account emails on our behalf.
PostHogProduct analytics
Helps us understand how the product is used so we can improve it (pages visited, features used). We don't send it your clients' personal details.
GoogleCalendar sync (optional)
Only if you connect Google Calendar. We sync appointment times to keep your calendars in step — see the Google section below.

Beyond these: we'll disclose data if the law genuinely requires it, and if Leashdesk is ever acquired, this policy still applies to data collected under it. That's the whole list.

Google Calendar (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we read your busy times to avoid double-bookings and create events for your appointments. Leashdesk's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We never use Google Calendar data for advertising, and you can disconnect the sync at any time from your settings, which revokes our access.

Cookies

We keep it to two kinds:

  • Essential cookies — sign-in session cookies that keep you logged in. The product can't work without them.
  • Analytics — PostHog sets a cookie/local-storage entry so we can tell visits apart and see which features get used. It's ours, not an ad network's, and the data isn't shared for advertising.

We don't run third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

If you're a client of a business that uses Leashdesk

Your sitter, walker, or trainer controls the information they keep about you and your pets — Leashdesk processes it on their behalf. To view, correct, or delete that information, contact them directly; it's their client list. If you booked or paid through a Leashdesk booking page, your payment was processed by Stripe, and emails you received (confirmations, reminders) were sent at your provider's direction.

Retention, export & deletion

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can export everything (clients, pets, sessions, packages, forms, reports) as a file from Settings at any time, and you can delete your account from Settings, which permanently erases your account and the business data stored in it. Payment records held by Stripe are retained as required by financial regulations.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is scoped so each business can only ever read its own data, enforced at the database level. Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you promptly and tell you what happened.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data — mostly self-serve from Settings, and we'll handle the rest by email. If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), these are your legal rights and we honor them; note that under the CCPA definition, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information. To exercise any right, email support@leashdesk.com.

Children

Leashdesk is a business tool and isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change to how we handle data, we'll update this page, bump the effective date at the top, and — for significant changes — email account holders before it takes effect.
